DC Minyan is excited to welcome back former DC Minyan member Rabbi James Jacobson-Maisels as a scholar-in-residence July 21-22, 2012. He will be leading a Lunch and Learn on Saturday, July 21st: “What Jewish Mysticism Can Teach Us About Living a Full Life”
How do we open our hearts, and what gets in the way? One of the central aspects of religious life for the Hasidic masters is the life of the heart. Through an exploration of the teachings of the Piaseczner Rebbe, we will see the centrality of emotional openness and honesty to life and well-being and the ways to achieve it.
When: Saturday, July 21, immediately following services. Services begin at 9:15 a.m. in the Community Hall at the DCJCC.
Where: DCJCC, 1529 16th Street, N.W.
Cost: The cost for lunch is $10 for adults, $5 for children aged 4-12, and free for children under 4. Lunch is generously subsidized by a grant from the Friedman-French Foundation.
