Position
The Program Assistant will provide support for all JINSA programs and events, as well as general administrative support. Ongoing annual programs include but are not limited to board meetings, annual gala dinner, military base visits, annual programs in Israel and cabinet meetings around the country, particularly in DC, NY, TX, CA, MA and elsewhere. Limited travel may be required. This position reports to the Managing Director and is not exempt from overtime.
Responsibilities
- Provide support in all program areas: Maintain guest lists, prepare registration materials, organize logistics, make travel arrangements, make phone calls, conduct research, prepare for meetings, assist program staff with administrative tasks and perform other duties as assigned for general and fundraising events
- Maintain the JINSA database and lists
- Coordinate and update the JINSA calendar of events.
- Write reports on events and programs
- Write letters
- Assemble media and donor kits for events and meetings
- Answer phones
- Provide other administrative support as needed
Qualifications
- Background/interest in U.S. defense, security and Middle East policy preferred
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office
- Excellent verbal and written communications skills
- Attention to detail; strong time-management and organizational skills
- Ability to work independently with little supervision
- Excellent interpersonal skills and can-do attitude
- Ability to interact with donors and other key constituencies
