Mitzvah Maker – Falafel Frenzy

The Falafel Frenzy is an event on the night of Dececember 24.  Images are of the organizers of the event.

What is the Falafel Frenzy?
A new and exciting grassroots event.  The goal of our event is to provide a party for Jews on Christmas Eve with all of the net proceeds going to support local food programs (Jewish and Non-Jewish) through a designated gift to the Jewish Federation of Greater Washington because we strongly believe in giving back.
When:  Christmas Eve, 9pm – close
Cost:  $20 in advance, $25 at the door
Where: Local 16 – private VIP lounge level with drink specials and DJ ( of course there is access to all Local 16 bars including heated deck). 1602 U St NW, www.localsixteen.com;  http://www.facebook.com/event.php?eid=127724680621239

Why is it going to be the premier event for Jews on Dec. 24?
Hotter people.  Cheaper drinks.  Better location.  Supporting a great cause. This is a grassroots effort targeted across all Jewish networks in the DC area.  We have more than 20 people on the host committee in their 20s and 30s who have contacts across the DC metropolitan area.    The FALAFEL may or may not be making an appearance!!!

How do I sign up?
PLEASE sign up in advance to help us manage the door and minimize your wait time.

Who should come to this event?
EVERYONE!!! Jews that like to party, meet other like minded people, and make a difference!!

What were other names that you were considering for this event?
Bagel Bash, Club Dreidel — the party with a charitable spin

Where did the idea come from?
It arose from a desire to create an event where 100% the net proceeds go to charities in the DC area.  We wanted to make a difference AND have an event that brings together like-minded people in a cool space with cheap drinks!
